Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. Because of their fear of stress, the parents were not keen to let her pursue acting before she turned 18. Perry she was shy for acting in school, began performing in theater classes at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. Perry began her career in New York after graduation, performing in minor role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry go back to California and find work as a theater actress. She and her mother starred on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she was a part of her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry starred in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, she starred in an recurring role in her own ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. She played an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. Despite having a family connection to the character, she was offered the role through an audition.
