Ina-Garten
Ina Garten is an acclaimed American writer of cook books for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina started her career as a writer for the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy papers. Though she initially found it fascinating, eventually she became bored. She then bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food shop. It took her 18 years to make the shop extremely successful before she decided to sell the business. She then began to write the first of many cookbooks. Other cookbooks followed, as were magazine articles. Her Food Network TV show also was launched which was an enormous success. Also, Ina sells products including food-related ingredients, storage containers and equipment. Ina did not go to a cooking academy and has never been employed in restaurants. She is self-taught. Her name is associated with her casual style of making food and hosting. Her most popular recipes include the lemon chicken that she grills in a skillet and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, balsamic-roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
